(FOCUS) provides the following products and services:
The FAR (Functional Abilities Report) is a combined IME and FCE. This integrated
daylong assessment provides a comprehensive blueprint for claims analysis in
the areas of impairment/disability, behavioral elements affecting recovery as
well as rehabilitation.
The FCE (Functional Capacity Evaluation) provides objective analysis of an individual’s
current level of function for all physical demands, based on court proven Matheson
techniques. Certified Kinesiologists trained in work capacity evaluation through
the Professional Industrial Residency Program perform this testing.
The IME (Independent Medical Evaluation) provides
accurate diagnosis and prognosis, as well as remedial treatment recommendations
if required. These
examinations are performed by our Independent Medical Specialists.
The PDA/JSA (Physical Demands Analysis/Job-Site Analysis) provides an objective
analysis of the physical demands required in the claimant’s work environment.
The Job Site Analysis includes an interview with the employer to explore issues
such as task modification possibilities, job availability, and the employer’s
willingness to accommodate potential graduated return-to-work programs. The PDA/JSA
allows for direct comparison to FCE testing results.
The HSA (Home-Site Analysis) objectively assesses the claimant’s ability
to perform activities of daily living, including care-giving. The HSA also provides
recommendations for assistive devices that may be required in order to help individuals
re-engage in an independent and productive lifestyle.
The VOC (Vocational Evaluation) includes a transferable skills analysis and a
labour market survey. This evaluation is designed to meet a very specific need
in the insurance industry resulting from the introduction of Bill
59.
Diagnostic Imaging Services which include CT
SCAN, MRI and ULTRASOUND are available
through all FOCUS locations as a result of third party booking agreements
